New Church Construction
With prayer, sacrifice, and unity, we are building a permanent house of worship for Holy Trinity & Saint Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. This page shares the vision, progress, and the many hands God has sent to help build His holy house.
A House for Prayer
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)
Our desire is to build not merely a structure, but a sacred place for Holy Liturgy, prayer, repentance, teaching, and community life.
Current Status
- Planning, design, and engineering preparation in progress
- Structural development underway
- Roofing and exterior preparation (upcoming)
- Interior build-out and utilities (upcoming)
- Sanctuary arrangement, iconography, and final completion (future phase)
Construction Vision
Our goal is to build a reverent Orthodox worship space that supports Holy Liturgy, feast services, Sunday School, theological formation, fellowship, and outreach.
Sanctuary & Altar
A sacred space for the Holy Mysteries, arranged according to Orthodox tradition and reverence.
Education & Classrooms
Areas for Sunday School, catechesis, youth formation, and adult teaching.
Fellowship & Hospitality
Space for welcoming visitors, fellowship meals, community gatherings, and charitable service.
God’s Providential Provision
The assistance given to our church in this construction was not planned by human effort alone. It was clearly arranged by the hand of God. At moments when the project seemed beyond our ability, the Lord Himself provided the right people, at the right time, in the right way.
In a manner that can only be described as miraculous, I encountered the two Coptic engineers, Magdy Kozman and Mina Michael. There was no prior plan, no arrangement, and no human coordination. God brought them into our path as instruments of His mercy toward this parish.
Although Mina Michael resides in New York, the Lord opened the door for him to obtain Texas engineering licensure specifically in order to serve this church. This was not for business, not for profit, and not for personal gain, but purely so that the work of God’s house could move forward. Such a step requires effort, time, and sacrifice — and it was offered freely, with love for the Church.
Likewise, God sent Frew Eshete, who provided design support and served as general contractor without compensation. His willingness to carry responsibility and labor without payment is a witness of faith in action. These men did not come seeking recognition, but came in humility, understanding that this is the work of God and not merely a construction project.
Their appearance in our journey is not coincidence. It is the fulfillment of the Scripture: “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.” (Psalm 24:1). God chose them, prepared them, and sent them as His servants to help build His holy house.
Acknowledgement & Gratitude
We acknowledge with deep gratitude the greatest help of the two Coptic engineers, Magdy Kozman and Mina Michael, who provided engineering services without receiving payment, with great spiritual understanding and love for the Church.
We also recognize Fred Eshete for his invaluable support in the design process and for serving as general contractor free of charge. Their generosity is a true blessing to our parish.
